I’ve always loved sunday’s mornings, my mom would make us some “Pain perdu” (Lost bread) or “Pain doré”, (Golden bread) which consist of using the rest of an old baguette soaking it into eggs and milk and then frying it.
A dear friend of mine have always found its name weird in a funny way, he’ll be like ” How can anyone call a dish ‘pain perdu’, maybe they lost their mind not the bread haha ” Anyway, he’s got a point. But,but you know as long as it tasts good then no one cares about the name :3
All You need is:
1/2 cup milk
Pinch of salt
1 tsp Sugar
1- beat eggs very well, add sugar,salt, milk and beat again;
2-Cut tosats into slices, the coat bread thoroughly in egg-milk mixture.
3- Lighty butter a hot pan then add bread to the pan and cook slowly for 3 to 4 minutes on each side
